Questions and Answers

This session is sponsored by the Hydronics Industry Alliance (HIA) – The Hydronics Industry Alliance is a coalition of 34 members of the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute whose purpose is to provide information to architects, engineers, HVAC professionals, consumers and the media about the benefits of hydronic heating and new technologies that are being introduced each year. Go to www.myhomeheating.org for instant information and contact with members of the Alliance. Because HIA is a trade association, this education sessions is purely informational and offers immediate references to manufactures sites and engineering help.

Description: Hydronic Heating Equipment offers green technology designed for single family, multifamily, condos, high rises and commercial establishments. With the ability to have vertical gas mains, vertical exhaust, or through-the-wall venting, designers can include environmentally sustainable hydronic heating systems in all categories of structures. New hydronic heating systems reach 98 percent efficiency and qualify for tax rebates. Hydronic systems heat space and water with one burner, thus using only one carbon footprint and can be used with solar. Hydronic heating pumps and burners can save up to 10 – 20 percent on costs. It is a fact the “Green Building” saves money, energy and the environment, therefore, not only do the building materials need to be green, but the heating delivery systems as well.

Learning Objectives: This seminar is designed to offer ideas to architects and engineers that will offer solutions of how to include hydronic heating and delivery systems. Not only will they learn about the new technologies but how the hydronic manufactures will assist them with the design and sizing of their projects. Because the housing market is not performing as well as hoped, homeowners are looking to replacing vintage boilers with ENERGYSTAR® rated units and new indirect water heaters. These units qualify for up to $1,500 in U.S. Government Tax Rebates.

Speakers will cover topics of new residential and commercial hydronic heating systems, LEEDS certification of buildings, Green Builder recognition by the NAHB and The American Gas Association and, new technology in pumps, valves, and burners. This seminar is sponsored by the Hydronics Industry Alliance (HIA) (www.myhomeheating.org) that is a coalition of 34 manufacturers of hydronic heating equipment and delivery systems.
